Òmnium has filed a "petition against the alteration of the pre-established court" to resolve the case, which is about the 25% of classes in Spanish at the Turó del Drac school in Canet de Mar (Barcelona), on July 11, according to a statement released on Monday.

The organization, representing families of the school, sees the appointment of the president of the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC), Javier Aguayo Mejía, as a "maneuver" to interfere in the resolution of the case.

"We reject Judge Aguayo, who, by ignoring the rules of the TSJC, interferes in a case that is not his to make judicial activism against Catalan," said the president of Òmnium, Xavier Antich.

For the organization, Aguayo "has a particular interest and leads the intrusion of judges in schools" and they have insisted that his presence raises doubts about the impartiality of the court.

Antich criticized that the judge excluded Òmnium from participating in the trial of the 25% "while he accepted the Assembly for a Bilingual School."
